God Moments
Moose, the St. Bernard….
At birth, Moose’s momma accidently bit his umbilical cord too close to his wee-wee, we doctored and watched him closely hoping he wouldn’t get an infection. No infection, but he wouldn’t grow 🙁 ; he remained the “runt of the litter” and I called him, “Tiny Tim.” I had no idea, if he would live and, if so, what God had in mind for him???
Mr. Jim Lane, a friend of my families, came to inquire if I was still working with dogs since my father had passed. Long story short, I asked him if he was looking for a pup. Jim stated, “He was thinking of a St. Bernard for an anniversary gift for his wife, Karen.” I told him, “I have just the pup for you!!”
The next week, Jim brought Karen over to see my pups and to meet Mr. Tiny Tim! Once they got him home and introduced him to their grandson…. Tiny Tim became “MOOSE!”
MOOSE is the perfect mascot for the Lane’s Christmas Tree Farm and BBB, in Etna, Arkansas.

Ozark Blessing a.k.a. OZZY, Old English Sheepdog
A TRUE BLESSING … ARCHIE (as I called him in the beginning) was the biggest pup in the litter; however, he was a “titty” baby! When the litter was wean from momma, he refused to eat! The other pups in his litter soon out grew him. I brought him to the house and eventually he began to eat pablum, then soft feed, and finally salmon & eggs. (LOL) He was just a tad soiled (ya think?).
My dad was still alive and he asked me, “What was I going to do with him?” I had no idea, but God had a mission for him!!!
A few days later, I was looking at an Old English Sheepdog group on Facebook. A lady had posted that she was flying home to Pennsylvania from her mother-in-laws funeral in Florida, only to be with her “MAX,” an Old English Sheepdog (OES), who was about to pass. God touched my heart as I read her post.
Hoping I would not upset her, I prayed and decided to send her a message. I expressed my sympathies of the hard times she was experiencing and expressed although the time might be inappropriate, that when she was thinking about another OES pup, that I had a male available.
Long story, short again… We met two days later in Indianapolis, IN and Archie met his new momma, Sharon. Once again, God had his plans for Archie…. coming from Ozark, AR, Sharon and her daughter, Rachel, decided Archie really didn’t “fit” him. He soon became Ozark Blessing a.k.a. OZZY.
And indeed OZZY has been a true blessing…. God and OZZY blessed me with a very dear friend (sister) and a whole family ta’boot!!!

Colonel Archie, Rhodesian Ridgeback …
A friend had been contacted by a young man inquiring about wanting a Rhodesian Ridgeback. She stated the couple recently moved from Florida to Little Rock, Arkansas and they would like to come look at puppies. I inquired a little more information about the couple; due to the fact, there are many people who have ulterior motives when visiting a dog breeder. She shared with me their name….and it sounded familiar to me. My friend state…”Oh you don’t know them!”
We scheduled a date and time for their visit. Before that day came, their name played on my mind….as how did I know their name??? Finally, I googled it!!! And yes, God had His hand on this acquaintance also!
…. Few people know, I collect world-wide postage stamps. Anyway the day came for their visit; upon their arrival, I was on the lawnmower and waved to them to follow me to the barn. As I got off the mower, they were already out of their vehicle. I reached out to shake his hand, as I did, I asked by chance if his great, great, grandfather had been the mayor of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Immediately, his wife asked, “How do you know our family???” My friend had joined us and she was shocked….”I did know the name!”
We all had a great visit and played with the puppies; however, Colonel Archie was the winner!! Three weeks passed and the Colonel was ready to join his new family. Upon picking Archie up, we had to go over the three most important rules of owning a pup with their daughter.

Skuttles, Old English Sheepdog …
My husband finally said, “Yes, I could get an Old English Sheepdog?”
All she wanted was an Old English Sheepdog named Skuttles! God had a plan again…. Mrs “C” arrived in Memphis, TN from Florida panhandle to pick up this blessing. It was quite the surprise to see Mrs. “C” was expecting a “pup” of her own!
Mrs. “C” called me crying about two weeks after picking Skuttles up. Scared me. I thought something had happened to Skuttles, but no! Mrs. “C” continued on to tell me that in the middle of the night Skuttles had continued to awaken her and her husband. After realizing they weren’t going to get any sleep and feeling anxious, they decided to head to the hospital. All Mrs. “C” said next was “Skuttles saved our baby!” Apparently, Skuttles must have been feeling the babies’ heartbeat was irregular, is the only explanation. Baby boy was born alive and healthy!!! Our God is great!
Mrs. “C” is a groomer and loves to color Skuttles hair!

ROSIE, Old English Sheepdog …
God had a mission for this little girl….
I came across a FB posting for Old English Sheepdogs, reading through the comments a lady stated, “She had been hoping for a pup only to get SCAMMED out of a large sum of money and NO pup. On the same posting another lady commented similarly. Out of curiosity, I contacted the second lady to get more details. Surprisingly, she has spoke with the first lady regarding her experience. “Lady #2” and myself discussed getting “Lady #1” a pup. I explained, due to building new barns and “being under application for my USDA license,” I had some long aged pups needing a new home.
After visiting the vet’s office and getting clean bill of health and Rabies shot (above pics), one of my co-workers, his wife, and granddaughter made the trip to South Carolina with Ms. Rosie (OES). I called the next morning to inform Mrs. Geo what time she could expect her long awaited pup around 3pm: Mrs. Geo told me Mr. Geo was already on the front porch waiting.
When they arrived and opened the door, Rosie jumped out and ran directly to Mr. Geo. Mr. Geo then called to Mrs. Geo stating, “Mama look I found Rosie?” Afterwards, Mrs. Geo enlighten us on the fact that they had had an Old English Sheepdog when they were first married named Rosie. Mrs. Geo also stated Mr. Geo was diagnosed with rapid on-set dementia; but thinks Rosie is a “cure”…. the first time in 4 years that Mr. Geo had smiled!
